Use Your Own Images for Reactions
Customizing reactions with your own images can greatly enhance the visual appeal and uniqueness of the interaction options on your site. The DaReactions plugin allows you to use any image stored in your WordPress media library as a reaction icon.
How to Use Custom Images for Reactions
- Navigate to Reactions Manager:
- Go to Reactions » Reactions Manager in your WordPress dashboard.
- Select a Reaction to Customize:
- Click on any existing reaction image. This action will open a drawer displaying a collection of default and previously uploaded images.
- Open the Media Library:
- Click on the button above the collection to access the Media Library and Uploader. Here you can choose any image you wish to use as a reaction.
Choosing the Right Image Format
- Bitmap Images: While JPEG, PNG, and GIF formats can be used for reactions, be aware that these types of images cannot be colorized with the color picker widget provided by the plugin. These should be used as-is, in their original colors.
- Vector Images: For best results with the color picker widget, use monochromatic vector images. These images can be adapted to any color scheme based on your site's design.
Uploading SVG Images
- SVG Files: DaReactions does not support SVG uploads directly through WordPress’ Media Uploader due to security and compatibility reasons. If you wish to use SVG images, you will need to utilize a third-party plugin that enables SVG uploads.
Tips for Using Custom Images
- Consistency: Choose images that align with the style and color scheme of your site for a cohesive look.
- Legibility: Ensure that the images are clear and easily recognizable at smaller sizes, as they will be used in various contexts across your site.
- Legal Considerations: Only use images that you have the rights to use or are free for commercial use to avoid copyright issues.
By following these guidelines, you can effectively customize the reactions on your site with unique images that reflect your brand and enhance user engagement.
