Enable or Disable Reactions Globally
After installation, the DaReactions plugin automatically enables reactions for posts and comments. If you need to adjust these settings globally or for specific content types and contexts, the following steps will guide you.
Adjusting Reactions for Specific Content Types
- Navigate to General Settings:
- Go to Reactions > General Settings in your WordPress dashboard.
- Modify Reactions for Post Types:
- The first tab features several checkboxes under the section labeled Add reactions to post types and comments.
- Check or uncheck the boxes to enable or disable reactions for each listed post type, including any custom post types that are registered on your site.
Adjusting Reactions for Specific Views
- Context-Specific Settings:
- Still within the General Settings, find checkboxes for enabling or disabling reactions in specific contexts under the section labeled Add reactions to single pages and/or archives too.
- Options include:
- Single pages and posts: Enable reactions on the detail pages of individual content items.
- Archives: Enable reactions on archive pages, including taxonomy archives and search result pages.
- Blog page: Enable reactions on the main blog page.
Enable or Disable Reactions Directly in Content Edit Page
- Content-Specific Settings:
- When editing or adding new content, look in the right column for the Reactions > Global Settings section.
- Adjust the settings here to enable or disable reactions specifically for the content you are editing. These changes will be saved along with the content itself.
Benefits of Flexible Reaction Settings
- Customizability: Tailor reaction settings to fit the context and type of content, enhancing user engagement where it makes the most sense.
- Control: Maintain granular control over where and how reactions appear across your site, ensuring they align with your content strategy.
By using these settings, you can effectively manage how reactions are integrated across your site, ensuring that they serve to enhance user interaction without overwhelming your content or diluting the user experience.
